This image was taken at my Mother’s house in front of the beautiful stained glass that she designed. Stained glass away reminds me of my roots in the Catholic church and all the beauty that is shown in the imagary. Right now, I feel that my mother needs more than anything, to be set into the House of the Lord; a house of prayers, hope, and faith.

She is battling a severe form of cancer (triple negative breast cancer). Which entails that she will be receiving chemotherapy and radiation. In the process she will lose her hair, much of her health, and strength.

The symbolism in this picture so so powerful to me. She is surrounds by the “Church” and safe place. The cage she is holding is symbolic of the cancer she has within her, but the ghosting can also represent the Holy Spirit living within her. The white dress representing cleansing, newness, purity of her body. This is what I can hope and pray.

My words are so weak, but the emotions behind the photograph speaks strongly to me.
